Jane Miller is currently Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA. The City of Oak Ridge operates under a modified City Council/City Manager charter form of government. Seven at-large council members are elected nonpartisan to four-year terms. The Council, in turn, elects a Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem. Jane was first appointed to fill a vacancy on the Oak Ridge City Council on Oct. 6, 2003, and then she was elected on Aug. 5, 2004, by citywide voting to serve the remainder of an unexpired term. On Jun. 7, 2005, Jane was re-elected by citywide voting to serve a full four year term through 2009. In July 2007, Jane was elected by the Council to serve a two year term as Mayor Pro Tem. |

Jane Miller has lived in Oak Ridge since the age of three. She attended Willow Brook and Robertsville schools, and is a graduate of Oak Ridge High School and the University of Tennessee - Knoxville, where she earned a B.S. in Business Management (1985).
Jane has been actively involved in serving and promoting Oak Ridge and the surrounding regional community for several years in various areas and capacities. In addition to her time on Oak Ridge City Council and continuing community activities, Jane has worked with B&W Y-12 since November 2000 in the Public and Governmental Affairs organization as a Public Relations Staff Specialist. Her duties at Y-12 include community relations and facilitator for the B&W Y-12 Community Relations Council. Previously Jane worked in professional positions with Lockheed Martin and Digital Equipment Corporation.
She is a member of Central Baptist Church - Oak Ridge, and is married to Barry Vickers who is employed as a IT specialist.
